CAPITAL CITY YOUNG AVIATORS
The CCYA Summer Young Aviators Program offers middle and high school students a dynamic introduction to the aviation industry, combined with meaningful career exploration. Participants engage with aviation professionals across a range of fields and take part in hands on activities designed to deepen their understanding of the industry. The highlight of program is an introductory flight in a single engine airplane, where each student has the opportunity to take the controls at 3,000 feet under the guidance of an FAA certified flight instructor.
Our goal with each student is to help them choose education, self-worth, and confidence in themselves to seek out and achieve a career that is right for them.
For the privilege in receiving an aviation-based experience and education, each student will have a number of expectations that CCYA will require to actually schedule their flights at no cost to them. CCYA believes that individual success comes from opening doors of opportunities presented to them, showing up and putting in the work required to reach their goals. CCYA will expect each student to show the following characteristics during their time within the program.
• Finish all assigned work
• Be courteous to others
• Attend and be punctual to all assigned events
• Always do your best
• Be open to new ideas
• Listen and be respectful to all authorities
Their generous support has enabled us to reach more students this year!
We are always looking for ways to reach even more youth in our community.
